HomeNieuwsPUBLIEK DEBAT ST. EUSTATIUS

Dear inhabitants of Saba, St. Eustatius and Bonaire:

Brighter Path Foundation is extending a very cordial invitation to you to be present at its first

ever Constitutional Seminar.

Venue is the St. Eustatius Community Center on the Rosemary Lane, on July 9, 2012 from 5:30 PM until 10:00 PM.

Our foundation’s objectives are:

To promote social relations and togetherness among members of social groups, churches,

members of society, their families, friends and others;

By organizing sporting events, lectures, workshops, parties, cultural, education and recreational activities.

In light of our objectives we believe that increasing public awareness of the Constitutional

Change as it relates to St. Eustatius, Saba and Bonaire is necessary. Therefore we have decided

to host a one day seminar.

The designated keynote speaker for the seminar will be renowned constitutional expert Dr.

Carlyle Corbin. During the seminar we will:

1. Discuss relevant provisions of the United Nations (U.N.) Charter in relation to

political/constitutional advancement and democratic governance;

2. Discuss the structure of our current status;

3. Discuss the various models of political integration and free association in the Caribbean

and Pacific;

4. Discuss the political, cultural, economic ramifications of an alternative constitutional

status for St. Eustatius, Saba and Bonaire;

5. Provide the public with a chance for interactive discussion.

The conference will be attended by a broad cross section of the community. Panelists will be

drawn from the island and executive councils of Saba, St. Eustatius and Bonaire, the private and legal sector and academia to represent a full range of expertise.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,

Xiomara Balentina

President of Brighter Path Foundation
