Not specified in the ministerial resolutions where will be built the twelve patrolmen; however, latest official data, presumably be on site Damex Cuban shipyard Shipbuilding Engineering, located in Santiago de Cuba and which is operated by Damen Shipyards Group.

Unincorporated Frigates:

Two of the three Lupo type frigates belonging to the Venezuelan Navy, the General Urdaneta (F-23), General Salom (F-25) and Admiral García (F-26), which remain in state facilities in a shipyard Dianca 10 years, will be divested and used as ornamentation, announced Gilberto Pinto White Admiral, commanding general of the Navy, according to the newspaper Notitarde review.

White Pinto said that the frigates will be withdrawn from the station stranded in the yard and only one will be operated; however, did not offer details of the ship to recover, or the date on which such work would begin.

“Currently there are newer and better features to keep boats,” said the Commander of the Navy, who recalled that the U.S. blockade regarding the purchase of military equipment affected frigates, since although they are Italian manufacturing, electronic components and their weapons are of U.S. origin.

Recent history of frigates Dianca

According to statements made by the same admiral Pinto White in August 2013, said the Minister of Defense, Admiral Carmen Melendez have instructed retake project status of functional recovery of the frigates, saying it would have made the technical studies for the development of these systems. “However, this does not mean we do not have missile capabilities,” he said at the time.

Consistent with this, by his side in February 2014, Vice Admiral Franklin Zeltzer Malpica, Dianca president said that before this June 2014, the General Salom frigate (F-25) should be in the water.

Malpica Zeltzer said at the time that he was working on them (frigates) and that “the measures that have made the last commanding generals, with the emphasis we’ve had on these eight months in office (…) President Nicolas Maduro took up the matter, the decisions were made and I think that this year God willing before June and at least we have the F-25 in the water. “

The frigates Mariscal Sucre:

The October 24, 1975, ordered Venezuela to Italy to build six frigates Lupo missile type, which became known as Mariscal Sucre class, being delivered between 1980-1982. 2,250 tons full load and armed with anti-ship missiles well Otomat Aspide Mk.2 and anti-aircraft missiles, they could embark and maintain a AB-212 helicopter for anti-submarine operations.

Between 1998 and 2002 the frigates Mariscal Sucre (F-21) and Almirante Brion (F-22) were in the United States for further modernization and maintenance. With the other four was intended to do the same but in the Venezuelan shipyard Dianca only partially running jobs in the General Soublette (F-24), leaving the three remaining stranded on Dianca since 2004 to the present.
