WILLEMSTAD – The former director of the Giro Bank Eric Garcia has been summoned to appear in court in April this year. After the treatment of the Astro case was postponed again last week, the date has been set for April 12.
Garcia is charged with embezzlement in the position of curator, forgery and money laundering. He would have misappropriated money as bankruptcy trustee in the bankruptcy of Banco Maracaibo.
The former Director of the Girobank declared that he had lent the money he had misappropriated in the bankruptcy of Banco Maracaibo to IIG TOF Holdings (now Giro Holdings nv) to co-finance 58 percent of the shares in Girobank nv.
