WILLEMSTAD – The Minister of Justice, Nelson Navarro confirmed recently that the process to sell the brothel in Curaçao, famously named Campo Alegre is progressing well. According to the Minister’s declaration the notary is finishing the requirements for a public tender that will have to take place soon.
The fight for the brother has been taking place in and out of court for years where the owners, shareholders and the government have been battling to acquire the rights to sell or operate. The Public Prosecution (OM) has also been working hard on the conditions for the sale of the brothel.
Since February of this year, the Minister of Justice has been in contact with the OM to monitor the progress. He can now confirm that the OM is working on auctioning Campo Alegre. But the Minister already announced this in 2015. Meanwhile the brothel has been operating as usual under the management of the company Rectour, which has the rights to operate it.
The Minister indicated that all investors can participate in the auctioning of the brother, even international ones. They will have to wait till the place has been appraised. Another important aspect is how the place will be operated. The Minister said that they will have to come up with a policy to operate the brother. He believes that everything should be legalized. “Laws will have to be made on how we are going to deal with this whole prostitution issue. We will have to emit permits for other brothels too, but of course we will have to study this firs,” said the Minister.

De prostitutie doet het geweldig. Daar kan veel geld in worden verdiend. De overheid moet dat exclusief op niveau uitbaten. Een uitstekende manier om gaten in de begroting te dichten. Het is als methode wellicht meer aanvaardbaar dan dubieuze connecties met (il)legale loterijen en kwestieuze geldschieters van politiek partijen, die hun geld verdienen met een combinatie van witwassen en belastingontduiking. Komt die vooraanstaande gokster van Sint Maarten niet voor in de Panamapapers? Een troost er zijn nog veel meer sluiproutes om te ontduiken en wit te wassen. Een passend vademecum is voorradig in de juiste kringen. Maar kijk uit voor geslepen hackers die naam wil maken als integer consortium.
Een safe have voor belastingontduikers kan ook heel veel geld opleveren!!
