THE HAGUE – Member of Parliament for the Dutch party VVD clarifies his position about a bill proposal he has submitted for a debate in the Dutch parliament. The MP did this considering a recent article that appeared in Curaçao Chronicle written by Rene Zwart.
Bosman says that the article is full of incorrect information. According to Zwart, this bill will make it “easier for the Netherlands to end the kingdom relation…”. Bosman emphatically states that this is not true. “By making the decision a government decree and not a Kingdom Charter decision, the Netherlands has absolutely no say in the whole process. Therefore it will be truly a decision by the people of the countries. The Netherlands will have less say in this.”
“Also stated was that that I took out the referendum. If people read the law carefully, they will understand that The Netherlands does not impose the way of decision making upon the islands. How they want to organize the way of a possible ending of the relationship is totally up to the countries. Each country could and maybe should have a different way of ending the relationship with the Kingdom, therefore there should be no dictated way in the Kingdom Charter,” says Bosman in his reaction.
Mr. Zwart also stated that there have been mainly negative reactions from the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom. “During the recent Interparliamentary Consultation Conference (IPKO), I was available for consultation during a special event, but no Member of Parliament of the other countries showed up. In my talks during the IPKO people had no comments about my law.”
“And finally, I do not know if in Belgium people are discussing my law, but in The Netherlands, people are just waiting for my proposal to be presented.”
Bosman ends his reaction by stating that to be against his proposal would be strange. “For the Caribbean countries because they have asked for this amendment themselves. And for the Netherlands, it would almost be colonial to deny more freedom of choice for the Caribbean countries.”

Help, ik word gestalkt!
Vandaag heeft de Daily Herald een ingezonden brief van het Tweede Kamerlid André Bosman (VVD) gepubliceerd waarin hij mij (verslaggever van Koninkrijksrelaties.Nu) ervan beschuldigt te hebben geschreven dat hij (Bosman) met zijn onlangs gelanceerde initiatiefwetsvoorstel het voor Nederland makkelijker wil maken om de koninkrijksbanden met de Caribische eilanden door te snijden. Hij verwijst naar een bericht op de website van de Curacao Chronicle dat door de Daily Herald – zonder te checken – is overgenomen.
Feit 1: Ik schrijf niet voor de CC, nooit gedaan en zal dat nooit doen. Dat de CC berichten van Koninkrijksrelaties.Nu jat en krakkemikkig vertaalt is Bosman als zelfbenoemd Cariben-expert genoegzaam bekend.
Feit 2: Ik heb nooit beweerd dat hij (Bosman) het voor Nederland makkelijker wil maken de eilanden uit het Koninkrijk te kieperen (al is dat vast zijn ultieme droom).
Wat heb ik wel geschreven is precies het omgekeerde: dat hij het dé eilanden makkelijker wil maken het Koninkrijk te verlaten: ,,Den Haag – VVD’er André Bosman heeft vandaag zijn omstreden initiatiefrijkswetsvoorstel om het Curaçao, Aruba, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba makkelijker te maken de koninkrijksbanden door te snijden officieel ter behandeling aan de Tweede Kamer aangeboden..”
Bosman kent deze tekst, want hij heeft er bij mij – zoals gebruikelijk – boos op gereageerd omdat ik heb gemeld dat niet iedereen het met zijn voorstel eens is. Zijn valse aantijging en verdraaiing van feiten komen niet uit de lucht vallen. Zodra je iets kritisch over zijn PVV-achtige plannetjes meldt, wordt het hem kennelijk rood voor de ogen. Wie een andere mening is toegedaan is in zijn ogen een leugenaar. Vervolgens krijg je er ook nog een lading provocerende mailtjes overheen (kennelijk heeft een Kamerlid daar tijd voor). Reageer je niet, dan gaat hij je via social media zwart (what’s in a name) maken. En dus nu ook via ingezonden brieven. Bosman stalkt me als een afgewezen minnaar. Even heb ik gedacht dat het aan mij lag, dat ik aanleiding heb gegeven, maar inmiddels weet ik dat het anderen die het waagden het niet met hem eens te zijn ook is overkomen.
