Court of Appeal rules in favor of Italy with the extradition of Francesco Corallo
PHILIPSBURG:—The Court of Appeal decided ON Tuesday afternoon that the extradition of Francesco Corallo (1960) is permissible.

The decision was taken after a request by Italy on January 12th. 2017 for his extradition.

Corallo has been locked up in a police cell since December 2016. While the Italian Government requested the extradition of Corallo, there is a civil case pending in St. Maarten between Corallo and his father.

Besides that just recently the lawyers representing Corallo file a case with the United Nations regarding his detention in a police holding cell for almost seven months.

Even though the Court of Appeals handed down a verdict on Tuesday, the process for the extradition is still not over since Corallo could still file an appeal with the Supreme Court in the Netherlands.
