WILLEMSTAD – There is still no alternative for the dumping of waste water. That Minister Transportation, Traffic and Urban Planning, Earl Balborda announced this to the media recently.

In the absence of adequate functioning water treatment plants, trucks discharge their waste water tank in illegal places on the island. As it was done for years in the area called Shut.

Director Maurice Adriaan of Curaçao Airport Holding, which is also the public entity responsible for the Shut area, the site next to Hato, has announced that the area will be closed off at the end of the month, because there are still chemical waste discharged and that is not according to the agreement.
