WILLEMSTAD – The Minister of Public Health, Environment and Nature, Suzanne Camelia-Römer explained that the management of the SEHOS Hospital requested financial assistance from the government to continue operating the health institution.
“At the government level, we are very pleased with the general management which now has laid out the financial numbers of the hospital. They are not ready yet, but you can see that there is a structure and we want to support the hospital,” said the Minister.
In the efforts to assist the hospital, the Minister of Finance, Kenneth Gijsbertha said that the problems are not only with the finances, but there is also a need for a care manager. Someone who is completely dedicated to that job. “My experts confirmed this to me,” said the Minister. “This means that at the government level, apart from the Inspectorate, we concluded that if the government is going to help the hospital financially, the will need a care manager,” said the Minister.
Several care processes need to be better structured. If the Health Inspector has not taken measures against the hospital, the government would have done this as a condition to financial assistance.
This was the Minister’s reaction to the instruction given by the Health Inspector to the hospital. In a letter, the inspector indicated that the hospital must have someone with experience and knowledge as a care manager.
