WILLEMSTAD – One hundred volunteers on Curaçao are expected to turn out on Good Deeds Day on Sunday April 7th, to do good for the benefit of others and the planet, putting into practice the simple idea that every single person can do a good deed, be it large or small, to improve the lives of others and positively impact the world.
Good Deeds Day is a global movement that unites 100 countries around the world in doing good deeds. Since 2007, millions of people and thousands of organizations and businesses worldwide have united every year to do good and volunteer.
Spread the Love Curaçao, the local movement dedicated to Random Acts of Kindness, organizes Good Deeds Day for the second time on Curaçao, with 5 group good deeds and several individual ones. The good deeds this year include a food drive in supermarkets, an underwater cleanup, live music at an elderly home, a land cleanup by teenagers, a pay-it-forward at a coffee place, and more.
Volunteers can still sign up for a good deed on Curaçao by sending an email to [email protected]. Anyone can take part with individual good deeds by posting a photo of their good deed on facebook or instagram using the #gooddeedsdaycuracao hashtag.
