Investigation against Director Intelligence Service VDC

WILLEMSTAD – The Public Prosecution has launched an investigation against the head of the Intelligence Service Curaçao (VDC), Michael Römer. This investigation is due to an affair with the wife of former PAIS leader Alex Rosaria, Elvira Rosaria-Statie.

This is according to a report from the Dutch newspaper Antilliaans Dagblad.

She was, until May 2015, acting head of the Unusual Transactions. When she wanted to end the affair, the head of the Security Service would have threatened her with a gun. She then told her story to the police but dared not to file a complaint and fled abroad.

Römer is currently on sick leave and is replaced by Aloysius Pole who will now be in charge of screening the ministers of the new government.

Römer already had problems in the past. This due to his friendship with former Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte, who had appointed him to that post. He is also a son-in-law of Elmer Wilsoe, former Minister of Justice, who is now a suspect in the Maximus case, which is the investigation into the assassination of the politician Helmin Wiels.
